Every rug in this collection was hand knotted in Iran. A Persian rug is made one knot at a time on a loom, usually from hand-spun wool and sometimes silk, and a room-size piece can take a weaver many months. That is why no two are alike, and why a well-made Persian rug can last for generations.

Start with size. In a living room, a rug large enough for the front legs of the sofa and chairs to sit on it pulls the room together. In a dining room, allow room for the chairs to slide back without leaving the rug. Then think about colour: a Persian rug often sets the palette for the whole room, so many clients choose the rug first and the cushions and art after. Wool is soft, resilient and easy to live with, while silk adds sheen and fine detail.
Vacuum regularly without a beater bar, turn the rug every six months so it wears evenly, and have it professionally washed every few years. We offer rug cleaning and repairs, with pickup and delivery available depending on your location.
